Health & Fitness

You always hear people say by keeping fit and eating well, you will live a happy and healthy life! But have you heard of the new ways people are doing that? During this blog I am going to discuss some of the new and “popular” ways of staying fit and living a healthy lifestyle.

Eating healthy can be challenging, I will be the first to admit I do not always follow the healthy food choice. I mean when there are so many unhealthy options to eat that are amazing it is hard to follow through. When you are driving down the road and see a Chick Fil A to your right and a Steak N Shake to your left, we’re all obviously tempted to stop and get that eight-piece chicken nugget meal or the junior chocolate shake! I am not saying eating that occasionally, is a bad thing. But at some point, our metabolisms slow down, and we need to start thinking about the nutritious foods that are good for us.

A new diet people have been following is the paleo diet; a diet based on the types of food such as, meat, fish, vegetable, and fruit, and excluding dairy or grain products and processed foods. I know this sounds like it would be hard to follow, but there are hundreds of recipes that surprisingly sound good! Some of those recipes include: coconut mixed berry smoothie, grilled fruit salad, and braised balsamic chicken plus so many more! Yum!

The second part of living a healthy lifestyle means exercising! We all could get out and do some kind of exercise once in a while, even though half the time we dread the thought of it, there are new ways of working out that can actually be fun! This type of work out is the exercise class on a trampoline. I mean personally I hate working out, but I love jumping on a trampoline so how bad could it actually be?! It is said that ten minutes of jumping on a trampoline is equivalent to 45 minutes of running. Not only do the people work out on the trampolines so do the instructors! While they are jumping, they work on cardio, core strength building, and of course, jumping on the trampolines. I would personally love this, because who would rather spend hours in a gym during the week rather than acting like a little kid and jump on trampolines while getting in shape!
