If you are ever looking for a good military movie that is a true story, American Sniper is the movie for you. The movie American sniper was based on a true story about Chris Kyle, and his experience joining and being a Navy Seal sniper. The movie came from the book “American Sniper” which is an autobiography by Chris Kyle. Chris grew up in Texas and had always been a skilled shooter since he was young. He had a dream since he was a kid to be a cowboy, riding in rodeos, and working at his ranch. But one day when he was sitting at home he saw terrorist bombings on TV. After that deciding he wanted to join the Military at 30 years old to fight the terrorist, and putting his skills to use. The next day he went to a military recruiting office and decided to try and become a Navy Seal, one of the most elite forces in the world.

Seal stands for sea, air, and land combat, it is the hardest branch in the military to become a member of. Chris then shipped off to BUDs training for three months of hell, after meeting his future wife Taya. Any they were married a few years later, then Chris was shipped out to Iraq in 2003 and served three more tours after that. Chris began to rack up many kills, protecting his fellow Marines and saving many of lives. People started to call him the legend, due to his amount of kills and pinpoint accuracy. Chris was feared by the enemy at one point he had a $180,000 bounty on hid head, and a Syrian sniper started to try and hunt Chris down, and also killing many other soldiers.

Every time Chris went home after a tour, because he was not the same person he wanted to be back in Iraq protecting other soldiers and to kill the sniper. Many of Chris’s fellow Seals and friends were killed by this sniper, so Chris had his mind set that he had the kill the sniper before he could go home for good. Eventually Chris killed the sniper with one of the longest kill shots in history 2,100 yards, around 1.2 miles. After that he came home, and had rounded up over 160 confirmed kills making his one of the deadliest snipers in history. When he came home he suffered from PTSD, but found a hobby that helped. Chris would take injured veterans out to a shooting range and talk to them. One day he took this ex marine out who had bad PTSD, and the ex marine shot and killed Chris at the range, Chris was truly an American hero.
