Netflix V Hulu

I’m sure you have heard the arguments over if Netflix or Hulu is better. Well I am here today to list out the benefits and the downside to both streaming services. I personally find both to be great services, but there are clear benefits and downfalls to both services. 

Netflix 

Pros:

One of the major benefits to using Netflix is that there are no commercials. You are able to download content and are able to watch when you don’t have access to wifi. Netflix offers an array of Netflix Originals, more than Hulu offers. Netflix is an easy service to use, all you have to do to set it up is log into your account, and begin streaming. Netflix is pretty cheap, the basic plan costs $8, then it goes to $10, and the premium plan is $12. You can easily access Netflix from any device that connects to the internet. 

Cons:

One of the major cons towards Netflix is that they only release series by seasons, not episode by episode, and they aren’t always quick about uploading the latest season. Netflix doesn’t keep older shows on for too long, so if you want to watch an older show, don’t wait too long. You can only have a certain amount of people watching at a time on your account, if you want more people to be able to watch at the same time, you have to upgrade your membership. Netflix has an outdated library, with movies from the 80’s and tv shows that aren’t as current. 

Hulu 

Pros:

Hulu uploads by episode, not seasons, so you can stay up to date on current shows. They offer a lot of shows that are not offered on Netflix. Hulu has add-ons that you can add to your subscription, so you get more out of streaming.  Hulu also allows you to bundle your subscription, such as, bundle your Spotify Premium subscription with Hulu. Hulu is also easy to access on streaming capable devices. 

Cons:

Hulu’s basic plan does have commercials and if you want to get rid of those commercials you have to upgrade your subscription. Unfortunately, the add-ons, will raise the price of your subscription. Hulu also does not offer offline access, so if you don’t have wifi or data you will not be catching up on your favorite shows. While Hulu has a great selection of tv shows, they do not have the greatest selection when it comes to movies. 

These are just some of the big pros and cons to each streaming service, but I will leave it up to you to decide which one is your favorite and the best one for you.
